Car Died and won't start - need help!

I was sitting at a light waiting for it to turn green and the engine died. I thought "oh oops, i stalled like an idiot" but I hadn't. Engine turns over fine, and tries to hit on a couple cylinders then just stops. I pushed it into a parking lot, which luckily is only a 5 minute walk from my house. I'm going to put on some funky clothes and head back down there shortly. I'm thinking I'll check the distributor. Beyond that I don't really know where or what to look for. In some ways it almost seems like it ran out of gas the way it sputters, but the gauge was showing 1/4 tank so I don't know. I did recently put about 3/4 of a bottle of Regane in with the last full tank of fuel. Is it possible that it settled to the bottom 1/4 of the tank and is preventing effective combustion? Just throwing ideas out there. I recently installed the BTC and the car has run just fine with it until now. All the connections were good and are safely behind the kick panel so I doubt that anything came loose. If something had come loose do these symptoms seem consistent with that?

Umm.. what's Regane and why did you put it in your gas tank? Those fuel additives are really no good.

I put regane in, because i do so about once a year. typically i notice a small improvement in throttle response after doing so. It comes pretty well recommended. At any rate, a ground connection had vibrated loose from the J&S and subsequently the car wasnt starting. All cleared up now. Funny how when you get to this point, when something weird happens it's easy to assume the worst. *shrug* I'm just glad it wasn't too serious.

Regane actually helps? I've heard that fuel additives can do some damage.

Anyway, glad to hear it was just the ground connection on your J&S. I had some fun wiring woes while hooking up Zip's EFVC. I didn't have the correct wiring diagram for my car ('00 is different than '99) so I was going mostly by wire color. I came across two wires with the exact same color/stripe and spliced the wrong one. Car wouldn't start... that was fun.

fuel additives from your local autoparts stores are typically crap..yes.

but Regane is not an additive in that aspect..it is more like a injector/valve cleaner for carbon deposits. It's fine to use.
